Take a Stand

It is time that you stand up for what is right!

Gay is not a Synonym,
F*g is not a name,
Queer is not a label,
And this is not a game.

 

People do get hurt,
They die every day,
And it only gets worse,
When you turn away.

 

Maybe you're afraid,
Because someone is diverse,
And you think by helping them,
You'll catch some kind of curse.

 

It's not okay to let it go,
And forget what you can see.
In the end everyone will know,
The truth you wouldn't  set free.

 

So do your part and stop the hate,
The power's in your hand.
Respect and love will come your way,
If you take a stand.

wow loved this poem and i would just like to add im lesbian and before i came out someone told me the only thing wrong with being gay is hiding the fact that you're gay and if people would just come out and take a stand the world be a much happier place. So i totally love this poem. great job!
