Future

This probably isn't the best. I just wrote it in a few minutes without much thought.

I'm not even finished with high school

Yet I'm being pressured to look on

To the places I will go to

To the places far beyond

 

College is for adults

This is what I say

I feel like just a child

But you’re pushing me away

 

Away to my future

Away from my past

Why can’t I just hide

Hide behind a mask

i think many teenagers feel this way, including me. i mean do you remember the days when ignorance was bliss? and you could just play outside in the sun all day, with not a care in the world? i miss those days...

It's hard when we expect you to know what you want to do with your life at 17, 18, 19... Maybe a gap year to explore?

I feel the same. Its like you are caught between childhood and adulthood. Like you know you are about to start life but you don't think you are ready. You just dont want it to start.

I feel the same way, this poem connects to me since I'm going on to University this year, and I don't feel like I'm ready yet! I liked this
