I have been

I have been

A Poem by Nicola Taylor

wasting life watching space grow
from the cracks in the pavement
that I made with my heart far
too long ago

I'm tired of nursing
this wound back
to health

I can hear it beat
but I can't feel it

for that,
I'm far too happy

as for the rest,
I'm far too miserable

remember when
you'd call me
beautiful
without
ever
seeing
my
face

I think I miss
that the most

sometimes it's just painful
to know that you were
never beautiful like that

so much so,
it left cracks.

Wow this really is a beautiful piece, I wish I could write like THIS. I almost cried when I read this. Very descriptive without being too literal, it paints a clear image. Very nice isn't a good way to describe this, but I can't do it justice.

People and their opinions come and go, what matters is knowing yourself that you are a beautiful person inside.

This was great, wonderful job.
