Compulsive Lying

It was today,

that I woke up with dried tears on my cheeks,

and a weight on my shoulders,

I walked to the mirror and told myself,

"You're beautiful",

I then went downstairs and told myself,

"Today is a new day",

when I went outside and lit my cigarette,

I told myself,

"This is the last one",

so I finished my cigarette,

went back upstairs,

lied back down,

and told myself,

"You're going to be alright",

that's when I realized I'm a compulsive liar,

I'm not beautiful,

today is just a continuation of yesterday and a prolugue to tomorrow,

I'll go back downstairs and light more cigarettes,

and I won't be okay if you're not by my side.

i REALLY really like this one. but you ARE beautiful, babe. and even though i hate the fact that you smoke, this is an amazing piece. "Today is just a continuation of today, and a prologue of tomorrow" is an AMAZING line. i love you sugar lips, don't let nothing get you down :) i know things suck rite now, but I'm always here, always have been, always will be. Continue writing, you have a gift. More for poems, but a gift none the less! I love you to death! :)
