Forbidden Love

Forbidden Love

A Poem by Claire

Undeniable bond
Unspeakable love
But we continue on
Not a care in the world
Besides each other

How can love this strong be wrong?
How can feelings this deep be forbidden?
Why do they care?
What did we do to them?

Please just explain
Why it's right for them to hate
And wrong for us to love

There must be something I'm missing
Something I overlooked

I try to understand
Try not to care what they think

It's not their actions
It's not what they say
It's their reasons

Because I love you
And you love me
It's right for them to hate

So we gather our courage
And give each other our hearts
Because it's better to be hated for who you love
Than loved for who you hate
