Racing Thoughts Untamable Emotions

Racing Thoughts Untamable Emotions

A Poem by Claire

I do wish to begin
But I know not where to start

Surrounded by people
But I've never felt so alone

I watch the stars cry out in sorrow
Long after the sun has gone to rest

I know I want to be happy
But I know not how to get there

My heart has long craved a companion
But one is nowhere to be found

My eyes impatiently wait
For your beautiful smile

Warmth seeps through me
As my eyes come to rest on your beautiful face

Thoughts and confusion carelessly brushed away
My troubles and sorrow forgotten for now

A tear falls from the sky’s blue eyes
But I have not the strength to wipe it away

Drowning in memories of the past
And I know not what will lessen the pain

Drifting apart, fading away
Only the thought of you keeps me hanging on
