Up in the Sky, Down on the Ground

Up in the Sky, Down on the Ground

A Poem by Claire

Up in the sky
A lone star cries

Down on the ground
A single figure stands

Up in the sky
Fluffy clouds float against the pure blue background

Down on the ground
Colorful flower bloom

Up in the sky
Dark clouds gather

Down on the ground
Flowers wither and die

Up in the sky
The yellow sun burns bright

Down on the ground
Children laugh with glee

Up in the sky
A fierce storm grows

Down on the ground
Powerful lightning strikes

Up in the sky
Young birds take their first flight

Down on the ground
Children speak their first words

Up in the sky
Fumes gather in mass

Down on the ground
Pollution fills blackened lungs

Up in the sky
The stars shine bright in the sky

Down on the ground
Smiles dance on everyone's lips

Up in the sky
Eyes of evil stare down

Down on the ground
Crimson blood is spilled

Up in the sky
Graceful birds soar passed fields of green

Down on the ground
Ducks float on clean clear lakes

Up in the sky
Thick dark smoke hides what little light is left

Down on the ground
The world is engulfed in flames

A neat piece of poetry. I like how you compare the sky and the ground. Good work! Keep it up! : )
