Three years earlier

I open with Terri this morning at the salon and my socks match so I know it's going to be a great day. She's already there waiting when I arrive, sitting in a shampoo chair and tweezing her chin hair. Hey Yazzy, she yells. Her blue eyes meet mine and I feel her warmth. I say hello as I go hang my things in the back room. We walk next door to get some breakfast before the shop opens and we come back and flip through a People magazine. That Justin Beiber is so ugly she says as she looks at his picture. Did you ever have a celebrity obsession I ask. Here we go, she looks over at me with a huge grin. Oh my gosh Yazzy I loved Elvis Presley. I had every album and when he died I locked myself in my room for days. I couldn't eat anything I was crying and crying, I just couldn't believe it. He was so stinkin' cute I loved him so much.
It's almost noon and the rest of the girls have shown up. Now that I have a chance, I go to the back to check my phone. I have a message from Eric saying he's coming by to say hello. I go back to my chair and work on a couple of clients. As I'm walking them to the checkout I see Eric. He's browsing over some products for hair loss. I almost laugh to myself. Does he really think he needs that? I finish with my client and I start walking toward him. He gives me a huge hug and I breathe in his cologne. Do you want to try some product I ask, there's a sale plus an additional best friend discount. He chuckles and replies, deal, but I can't get my haircut right now because I have a friend with me. I look around and I see him. He smiles right at me and walks up to Eric and asks aren't you going to introduce me? I smile and Eric says this is Kyle. I shake his hand and introduce myself as he chuckles at my gesture. Eric looks at the both of us awkwardly and I ask if he decided what he wanted. I ring it up and they leave. Who is this Kyle guy? He has a short dark beard, brown eyes, and a gorgeous smile. I go back to work and wonder if I should ask Eric about him.
Three weeks pass, I'm grocery shopping with my mom and I hear an alert on my phone. I have a Facebook friend request from a Kyle. I immediately stop and check to see if it's THE Kyle. I can't tell!! I call my friend Sophia and ask if she knows him and she confirms his last name for me. Should I add him back right now? I decide to wait until I get home. We're driving home and my phone goes off again. It's him! He sent me a message. We get home and I run up to my room and shut the door. I open it and it says hey, you probably don't remember me but Eric introduced us. I haven't been able to stop thinking about you and then I found you on here.
