These Feelings Are Fading

There was once a time when you gave me butterflies,
The thought of you would bring a twinkle to my eyes,
When you would look at me and smile,
I felt elated, like I could run a mile

But these feelings are fading fast,
You run back to her and your past,
I cannot say it does not hurt,
But admitting so is not something I'll blurt

It's alright if you like her more,
Many like you have come before,
I just accept that I'm not the kind of girl guys want,
It's a feeling I know well, my frequent haunt

Its fine if you never wanted me as much,
I would have been a prisoner in your clutch,
And I am a bird who needs to fly free,
For I have big dreams and a world to see

In the end I'm glad that you let me go,
I was already going fast, and you were just moving too slow

Nice Rhythm ... it's a very painful poem and of course it's a heartfelt piece. I liked the flow but I felt the depth of the words too.

These two lines're cool and well ended the poem. Keep on. I feel bad when people hurt someone without any reason but then i think that what about me ... don't i ever hurt anyone .. then i scream "Yes" i do hurt too because i got that we're human and we do hurt even in animals, birds in every species of the world has something good and bad... i meant, if all livings have heart to love then they've got that heart too that sometimes much hurt. Life moves on always.
