Ode to the Sun

Ode to the Sun

A Poem by yinghua12

Ode to the Sun

Above the high mountain tops capped in white snow

From below the horizon where sea meets sky

Past the green pastures of grazing animals

The shining sun rises, every day of every year

Traveling gracefully through the sky

Bringing light and warmth to everything

That she casts her brilliant gaze on

Trees turn towards her as she passes by above

Sleeping flowers awake from their peaceful slumber

And around the nation the people rise

As the sun travels by

Marking the start of a new day

Above the rainforests where trees grow high

From the smooth rolling hills where green grass grows

Past the mighty waterfalls where water dances endlessly

The shining sun rises, every morning of every day

And to everything which she turns her eye

She brings growth and happiness

Her glowing light brings us life

Dewdrops accumulated from the peaceful night

Flee as the grass awakes from sleep

And around the nation the people rise

As the sun travels by

Marking the start of a new day
