PostcardA Poem by timthyMemories of a love lost
Yearning to retrace
Our footprints in the sand Longing to embrace The solace of your hand The sound of your breath Perfected in a sigh A fate worse than death A pain I can't deny The memories we made As we strolled the beach together Memories i would not trade They will live with me forever We floated above the milky way With no intent to land No excuses or words to say Love consecrated in the sand As we watch the tide As it rolls majestically to and fro We embrace with arms open wide With promise of never letting go As the fickle tide rolls in It sweeps the shore into the deep To remind us now and then Of promises sworn to keep I took a small vacation To the places we used to stay Overcome by my emotion Sands of time, come what may I cherish our time in the sand Even if you blatantly disregard Walking together holding hands I'll send you a postcard.
