My DutyA Poem by y&rForbidden love between a princess and a stable boy.from the start, I knew we couldn’t be. Yet you’d shown me a world Outside of my castle walls. you’d opened my eyes To your weaknesses, your pain. You’d made me see The things no other royalty would. that night, that battle, With arrows flying over our heads, I knew I’d found love With war and death right above us. war is over, now; We can’t hide our love anywhere else. I wish I wasn’t born to the crown, But I have my duty to take the throne. maybe next life, my love, Maybe then I won't have the duty To give you up. © 2012 y&rAuthor's Note
