Stone Cold

Sometimes I miss you like crazy but then I think... is it even worth it?

I'm falling into a paranoia of emotions which is taking me to a place from where there is no return

I want to emerge from it, holding your hand, triumphant, that at last I have you etched on my soul 

and with the knowledge that you'll be on mine forever...

I have been kept hanging by a thread of hope that I keep alive in my harrowing heart

while wallowing away in the grief of the knowledge that all that I did was for naught...

 

You kept me waiting and I kept on believing in you because I had no choice except to not believe.

You; who I had given my whole life to...

 it turned cold and now it's nothing but an icy heart ~ stone cold...

I feel all those emotions dwelling across the poem, you made the readers feel the wait of the person and how it's heart later turned stone cold.. fabulous!

Despite the stark wistfullness or rather because of it; this is a remarkably beautiful poem. There are layers of emotion here flowing rather than bursting out. The reader is caught transfixed.

I like the way you've pumped up the intensity in this one . . . I can feel the pleading & longing. Reading this feels like a see-saw as you go up & down thru hope & melancholy, hope & melancholy, thru-out. It's a familiar see-saw to many.
