I don't want to escape it
I want it to embrace me
To swallow me whole

I don't want to live it
I want it to leave me be
To let me have my joy

I don't want to ignore it
I want it to be all I think of
To be my constant reminder

I feel like this has to do with pain and how even though we don't want it, it may be necessary to experience in life. In a way, it can make things seem so far away, like joy, which is how I connected that to the title of this poem. Anyways, I really liked the way this was written. Great job!
