ComfortA Poem by ZiThink of all the comforting things people have ever told you, or that you have ever told yourself, or told others.
When you think of these things, and truly think of what they mean, how many of them ring true?
How many times in our lives have we told ourselves those lies, those things we pretend, for comfort?
How many times a day do you tell yourself there’s hope, that somewhere in the world it all balances out, that you were acting in his best interests, that you didn’t mean it?
Everybody lies. It’s comfortable to us. How comforting were these thoughts when you needed them? How comforting do you find them now? © 2011 ZiReviews
