Fear of Water

sometimes

i think it’s funny

that you’re like a sea

with depth

that is

rolling forever going forever growing

somehow

always more

consuming me

always

with every movement every moment every motion

sometimes

i think

you’re a f*****g ocean

engulfing

all that i am

swallowing

my being

hopelessly

pulling me 

under

in.

funny 

because

i don’t know if you knew this about me

but

i’ve never been able to swim.
