Crystals Blue

Crystals Blue

"

Screams fill the air.
Not screams of horror,
nor screams of pain.
Only the trills of youthful play.

Footsteps in the sand,
stolen from
Ireland's great cliffs,
make all else seem shallow.

Running.
Jumping.
Swimming.
Screaming.

Not screams of horror,
nor screams of pain,
only the trills of youthful play,
and endless innocence.

"Gather 'round the crystals blue,
Shimmering in the light of the sun.
And dip your feet,
into the cool of life.

"'Till the air
should fill with true selfishness,
enjoy this life,
and never stop to think.

"Never stop to consider
that should it all end
if those crystals blue
should seek revenge.

"With a sigh
they linger away,
embracing silence,
with what else to do?"

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
