Aftershock

"

Run!
The heat from above
will have no affect

Pant!
Chasing small pests
can have its toll

Chase!
Nothing stands
in her way

Grin!
She knows her playing
seems silly

Stop.
See the outside
Walk timidly.

Stop.
It's not where
she can travel

Whistle!
She returns to her
guarded life

Wag!
Remain happy
with the superficial

No questions.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
