Write / Blocks

A Poem by Kelli Wyatt
"

Another old one. 12-31-08, 1:08 AM

"

"Another shooting today, Dear," the disgruntled voice echoed into the kitchen hall where his proclaimed Love lingered, working on a TV dinner. She only nodded in silent acknowledgment, and to this he scowled.
Returning his eyes to the day-old paper, as the snow had delayed today's, he skipped to the sport's section.

Out of the corner of his eye, his child he saw, building with makeshift blocks.

About
I started writing free-form poetry in high school. Most of my poems have darker themes - those are the personal ones. If they have a lighter theme, chances are it was a contest prompt of some sort. .. more..
