a rose

a rose so beautiful

petals graceful and elegant

smell so sweet

long stem, sharp thorns

love quite the same

a gentle touch,

a sweet caress

the small bit of nervousness

a light kiss upon the cheek

the sweet scent of perfume

the sharp pain of loss

and just as a rose

love wilts away
