I feel the pain and hear the splintering

fragments of bone in my heart cavity

flesh bare and broken

scalpel-ed  by your lies

my body runs cold

emotion high

i hear the beating of my heart

steady like my breath

the beat slowly fades into the darkness

as your words cut my veins

silence

my beating gone

open chested

life moves on

empty and broken

the outspoken,

lost lover,

alone

pain left to grow
