She Walks The Road Alone

She Walks The Road Alone

A Poem by Julie Morgan

She walks the road alone

Balancing feet on yellow lines

Kicking rocks along the way

Avoiding everyone’s lies

She walks the road alone

And has been for forever

Sometimes her heart reaches

For a hand that she will never

She walks the road alone

Never stopping to rest

And she never accepted friends

Because alone was always best

beautifully written, well done! It flows very well and the rhyme works incredibly without compromising on the meaning or beauty of the words. This poem on being alone, choosing to be alone is just stunning, you talk about beng alone, yet the words aren't laced with the lonelyness you'd expect, it really feels like a choice you made, a choice you made peace with. It feels sad, but peaceful.

Truly amazing!
