I'm So Lucky She's Nearly Blind

I'm So Lucky She's Nearly Blind

A Poem by zzzingbird

The bus ride home is a long one.

Not long enough, though.

I’m that young man wiping the rainbow paint off his face

With pages torn from a notebook

Playing at a rushed makeup striptease

For a liminal audience

Blending red lipstick

Into alcohol flush

In the final moments before his deadline.

Stop.

Don’t show me that you’ve seen it.

It’s all done by now.
