I am a 24 year old who always had a habit of writing a chapter or two of a novel or short story and then pitching it, saying "this isn't good enough for anyone to read." I learned the hard way that you are your own worst critic, and if you don't let someone read it, you'll never grow.
That lesson was learned the hard way after my house burned to the ground when I was 15. I had several starts to books that I wanted to keep working on, one in particular I knew I wanted to see end up going somewhere special, and in the blink of an eye and a blaze of fire, they were gone. A friend of mine found part of a page that described a character I was developing and asked me why I had never shown her this before, to which I had no good answer.
Almost 10 years later, I found that same piece of paper and I've decided to put pen to paper again and see what happens. I'm nervous and excited to get some work out there for all of you to read and comment on!
