About Me

Here is a copy of my bio (it's kind of old):

Cleveland, Ohio native, Nicole Williams, was the recipient of the 2005 Prysmatic Dreams Poet of the Year Award given May 05' in Greenville, SC. During that year her poetry received recognition through a CD released by the International House of Poets and produced by DownLow Entertainment: entitled Soulful Branches: Words & Sounds. That same year she received an award from The Fifth Annual Institute of Freedom Studies for her poem Mis-education of the N.I.G.G.A and poems "Ghetto Serenade: A Sestina" and "Evolution" were published in Northern Kentucky University's literary magazine NKU Expressed.

Coined the Queen of Poetry by her peers and members of The New Word Order and Prysmatic Dreams, Nicole, whose stage name is NuEshe has a brand of poetry all her own. It's a literate blend of Hip Hop intelligence and precisely performed social consciousness that her audience loves. She tells it like it is and it's not only in your face, her topics are real and they're in your neighborhood. No her words are not big and dictionary definitions are not needed to understand her because her poetry is not something you understand, it's something you feel. NuEshe's spoken word has appeared on the popular Whispered Words Poetry Mixtapes.

~Mis-education of the N.I.G.G.A (Words Worth & Conspiracy Mix)
~Things Fall Apart - (Lost Loves Mix)

~Love Like That (Girl Talk Mix)

Not only a spoken word artist and talented writer she is also an acclaimed producer. Producing not only her work but also the work of others and several Whispered Words Poetry Mixtapes:

~For Lovers Only
~Girl Talk Mix
~Freedom Mix

As well as producing spoken word for some of her peers, Lady Untouchable's "Can I Call You Beautiful" has just been added to NuEshe's list of production.

Not shy to the business aspect of her craft, NuEshe sits on the board of directors for The New Word Order and has helped produce venues like The New Word Order National Net Slam and the celebrated New Word Order Reach Back Interviews, which featured The Last Poets who appeared on Common's hit, The Corners off his award winning album, Be.

NuEshe, has shared the stage with national & international artists like Breeze of SmoothAsKappacino, Tehut 9 of the Fifth Element and the 2005 Prysmatic Dreams Best New Artist, Nyne Elementz. NuEshe, has opened for The Last Poets and the Def Poetry Jam All Stars, Georgia Me, Malik Salaam and Kimotion on their Liquid Lounge Tour in Cincinnati, Ohio. Most recently at an open mic in Cleveland Ohio, NuEsha shared the stage with Def Poet Abyss.

She is a graduate of Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelors in English, focus on Creative Writing and a minor in Psychology. NuEshe has blessed the mic at Shakers In Town, The Secret Society's Vibe Sessions, The Ra Sessions, Cafe Cin Cin, The Legacy and The Greenwich Tavern in Cincinnati, Ohio as well as several venues in her hometown of Cleveland Ohio.

She is a chief administrator at one of the internet's hottest poetry lounges, Prysmatic Dreams and was featured in the first edition of the site's E-Zine. She is also one of the founding members of The New Word Order and played a key role in organizing/promoting the major radio broadcast event:

"An Interview with the Fifth Element Live" The Fifth Element is a group of poets comprised of Breeze of Smooth As Kappacino, Tehut 9, Aqyil, Mums of HBO's OZ and Jessica Care Moore.

NuEshe, who started writing in a journal when she was a child as a way to escape the madness that she calls her life began vocalizing those words when her mother passed in 99'. She has grown into a strong, enlightening voice, a voice that is her own. She believes, "spoken word artists speak for those without a voice in this business education should always stand before the entertainment aspect. You don't have to change the pitch in your voice to be heard or use words that the average audience would have to carry a dictionary around to understand what you are talking about, your message should ring loud and clear. Poetry is not about using big words and trying to make yourself seem intelligent, it's about relating to your audience and getting them to think about your message."

This 29 year old mother of one is an aspiring author and spoken word artist, currently working on her first book of poetry "What More Can I Say" and CD "Sounds of Poetry: Silent Screams" She has recently self-published two chap books, All I Have Is My Words, vol I & II and shares her poetry throught her personal website www.soundsofpoetry.com. You can also find her on several independent projects this year including the soon-to-be released Maximum Impact CD.

I am sure you will find her words inspiring and her presence righteous. Her voice is filled with reason, truth and intelligence. Keep an eye out and an ear open for this up and coming poetic beauty!
