The first look

I remember when I first saw you

Standing under the tall oak tree in your garden

You were smiling at an envelope

That you had tied to one of the low hanging branches

While I watched from the cover of my bedroom window

You turned and looked up at me

But I hid, because I'd thought you would think I'm weird

And then you laughed at my stupidity

And I smiled for the first time in a long time.
