Chapter 6: Dark Revival. Master of Zombies.A Chapter by Kane RaidenPatience and Kwasi have fallen into a pit load of trouble. What will take them out first the Posion Materia or their own Master?Chapter 6: Dark Revival. Master of Zombies. I really have bad luck with heights. Anytime up somewhere high I end up falling back to the ground and trust me this is not the last time this will happen. “YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME?! TWICE IN ONE DAY?! SERIOUSLY,” I yelled?! I looked over to Patience; she spread her wings out and tried to regain balance. But as she flapped her wings a bolder slammed against her wing. She began spinning around uncontrollably. I tried to reach towards her but the falling debris knocked my hand away. I used the wall as a spring and I launched myself with great speed. I caught Patience and surrounded us with my Thunder Shield. We made a large impact crater as we hit the ground. I was incredibly dizzy when I awoke. It took a while before my vision came back. I slowly got a sitting position and analyzed the situation. I don’t remember why but I guess I was so out of it that I didn’t realize for a while that I had Patience in my lap. We I did realize I almost screamed. I sat there contemplating if I should stay or move. But as I was thinking Patience woke up. “EEEK; RAPIEST,” She screeched! She punched my right in the jaw with full force. I trailed across the ground and slammed right into a wall. “…Ow…,” I muttered. “Why would there be a rapist in the middle of a hole in some random mountain?!” Patience sat there for a few minutes and suddenly her face grew red. “I’m so sorry,” She apologized! “Don’t worry about it. It’s just a flesh wound, it’ll heal. Though my pride may need some special attention,” I reassured. Patience smiled, and looked around. “So what happened to us?” “Don’t know. Maybe the ground was unstable or something.” “But wouldn’t Matt have sensed that right away. Plus how were the others able to walk through without falling?” I shrugged, “It can also be the enemy.” “That’s the most logical explanation,” Patience stood up and spread her wings. “Ow.” Her right wing stopped extending. “A sprain,” I asked? “Yeah, I won’t be able to fly us up in this condition.” Patience’s wings shrunk and she started walking around the pit. “Looking for something?” “An exit of course, like the one Matt found, now stop lazing around and help.” I got up and help Patience search but it was in vain. We were out of our element; if Matt was there we would’ve been out in seconds. But without him it looked impossible until; “Climb” I said, as I look hard at the large hole above us. “What?” “We climb!” I exclaimed. “I mean why not right?” “But…that’s a very long climb.” “Maybe, but not as long as the climb to the top of this stupid mountain” I rebutted. “I guess.” Patience pondered the idea for a while be for agreeing. “Let’s do this!” We grabbed on to the wall and started our great climb to the top. The wall was quite hard and sharp, plus every meter we climb I felt weaker and weaker. I could see Patience getting just as weak as me. Suddenly I felt dizzy, my vision was disoriented, everything around me was starting to blur out. My arms felt like anvils, and I couldn’t even feel my legs. I tried to see if Patience was alright but before I knew it she started to fall. I reached as far as I could and grabbed her wrist. “Patience, Patience!” I yelled. I used all my strength to lift her up towards me. “Ugh! Come ON! Patience I really need you to wake up now…PATIENCE!” Patience eyes opened like a light. She looked around frantically and looked up at me. “Kwasi, what’s going on?” “Glad to see you’re awake, now if you’re not busy or anything could you…um…I don’t know…HELP ME!” “Oh! Sorry!” Patience grabbed on the wall and attached herself to it. I took a large breath and wheezed. “So…are you okay?” “Me? What about you? You almost died.” “No big deal it happens to the best of us every day.” She sighed and looked at me worried. I shared her worried expression. “You can feel it right?” “Yeah, something is sucking away our Spirit Energy.” “Or someone.” “But what and from where?” We both surveyed the area, scanning for large amounts of Spiritual Energy. But we saw nothing. I sighed and thought. It was impossible for someone to lose Spiritual Energy without exerting any. But then it hit me, there was one object that could do it. I looked at Patience and it seemed like she had the same idea. “You thinking what I’m thinking?” “Possibly” Patience replied. “There is one way to find out.” “Right,” I looked straight at the wall I was desperately clinging on. I pulled back my arm and struck the wall with my Thunder Wing. The part of the wall crumbed and a dark blue illuminated. “Oh Crap. Looks like we were right,” I said disappointedly. “But I really wish we hadn’t.” “Poisoned Materia” Patience said darkly. Ah, yes Poisoned Materia. Every Spirit Hunter’s worst nightmare. As you know Materia are gemstones of collected Spiritual Energy that can react with the body’s Spiritual Energy. Now there are some Materia that will absorb too much Spiritual Energy and will need a constant supply of it. So they start to absorb Spiritual Energy from living things as well. And once they have completely drained all of the living thing’s Spirit Energy they start absorbing their life energy. It’s hard for us to tell when Poisoned Materia are around since they only absorb living Spirit Energy when they have reached their normal limit, which is different for every single Materia. Plus, they are hidden within rocks like normal Materia. They way these Materia act it really puts us Spirit Hunters at a disadvantage, like now. “Judging from the amount of Materia in the wall, I think I can safely say that they are all over this pit.” Patience analyzed. “And since they are already absorbing our Spirit Energy I estimate we have ‘bout 10 minutes before Life Energy consumption.” “Not enough time.” “I know. We need get moving” We hastily scaled the wall. All we had to do was to get out of the Materia’s range which was pretty small considering the size. But with our bodies getting weaker it was a real challenge. We were racing against time itself. If we didn’t get to the top in 3 minutes we were done for. I remember that in Master Cid’s class he said the process of Life Energy suction is extremely pain and last for a long time. We kept that as our bodies already started to feel the effects. Old wounds resurfaced and blood started hurling back up by throat; I did my best to push it back but it just keep coming. I looked over at Patience and saw many wound appear all over her. I face was covered in blood and her right arm badly bruised. Right then I knew she had her fair share of battles. I watched her endure the pain as she climbed past me, but as she climbed I saw a trail of blood coming from her. I looked closely and saw the blood was coming from above her legs. More precisely her back, were her wings are, her wings are the most precise part of her body. I would take a blow to the head to save her back. So why I wondered, why are her wings bleeding? It wouldn’t be until much later when I found out the reason behind her bleeding wings. The climb seemed to go on forever. It was properly only 1 minute but it felt like 1 hour. Due to all the pain, our minds were starting to shut down. We used every ounce of energy we had to get to the top and suddenly like god just picked us up I felt a hand tug my wrist. The hand pulled and lifted me up. I opened my slowly opened my eyes and saw a sight I thought I would never see. A man stood before me with blond hair and a scruffy face. Blue eyes and built. A smile that would make the world feels safe. “Master…Cid…you’re…alive…” Patience said as she made it to the top. Feelings of uncontrollable joy swirled inside my body. Master Cid, the man who died 3 months ago has reappeared right before my eyes. For a couple I didn’t say anything, I just allowed myself to hang in the air. I as I took everything in I looked at Cid and smiled, Cid smiled back. “Where have you been Master? Out late drinking again, striking out with all the girls” I teased. Cid didn’t respond, he just stood there with his head down. At the time I believed his silence was a sign of joy that came over him as well. “Well it doesn’t matter now, as long as you are okay.” “D-“ Cid muttered. “What was that?” I asked. “D-D-D-D-“ Cid stuttered. “Master? Are you okay?” Patience asked. “D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-D-“ “Master?” I called. “Master what’s wrong?” Cid said nothing. I suddenly felt extreme pain in my wrist. I looked up as Cid was crushing my wrist. “ARRGH!” I yelled. “Master stop, you’re hurting him!” The pain just grew. “ARRRGH!!!” I cried. “Master STOP!” Patience yelled. And in one fluid motion the pain stopped. Cid let go of my arm but pulled back his arm and struck me in my gut “DIE!!!!!!!” I easily felt my blood cursing up my throat and out of my mouth. “KWASI!!” Patience yelled. The pain coursed through me let a rapid waterfall. My body began to shut down one by one. With my vision the last to go. I remember seeing Cid’s face. He had a large evil grin across his face and bloodlust in his eyes. I was so confused of what was happening. I looked over and saw Patience. She jumped of the wall and sprouted her beautiful wings and charged for me. She reached out her hand, I couldn’t hear what she was saying but looked like she was calling out for me, I remember seeing tears flowing out of her eyes. I tried as hard I could to my arm but no matter what I did I just couldn’t. Then my vision came in snap shots. I saw things in frames. I saw Patience still reaching, then I saw a light behind her, then rocks coming down, then I saw Patience turn around, then I saw come closer to me, then darkness. It felt like an eternity before my eyes opened. I felt like I was floating in a pound of darkness. Turned out to just be some of the water at the end of the pit. As my eyes opened I only saw ominous glow of the Poison Materia. I slowly lifted my body. I sat there confused and worried, I just let everything I witness sink in. All the events splashed through my mind, nothing was left out. I closed my eyes and realized that my emotions got in the way of my judgement. I couldn’t see the obvious signs on Master Cid’s face. I gave off a cold and dark presence. His eyes were distant. His smile was tainted in blood. I felt so stupid, I ignored all the signs because of my happiness, I risked Patience’s life. “Patience!” It hit me like a rock. My eyes shot open I looked all around the area for Patience. I searched desperately. “Patience! Patience! If you can hear my yell back! “Kwasi?” The sound came from the rumble behind me “Kwasi is that you? Help. I can’t hold on much longer. I dashed to the rumble and push aside the rocks. I dug as much as I could and then my hand got a little numb as I hit something and bounced back. “Ow.” I yelped. The rocks started to fall and revealed Patience holding up a force field. “Patience!” Patience let down her force field and with my super speed I pulled her out before the rocks crush her. “You okay?” “Um, yeah.” I felt her hand shaking and I didn’t blame her, I was shaking too. After what we both experienced anybody would be shaken. “So now what?” I asked. “Um, you could put me down now for starters.” I right in her eyes. I was holding her so close I felt her warm breath. I nervously let her down on her feet and took awkward step back. We stood there for a couple of seconds, letting the situation get to us. “Now what?” Patience asked. “Who knows? Thanks to zombie Cid our only exist is block off.” “Master...” Patience said depresses. “...” “Why do you think the Master is doing this?” Just as I was about to answer her I felt a heavy spiritual pressure. The spiritual pressure was all too familiar. “Why don’t you ask him you self?” Out from the shadows behind us Master Cid emerged, his filled with bloodlust. At that moment that I realized that this was my fault. I was so blinded by joy that I didn’t see what was right in front of me. When Master Cid first appeared there was an enormous aura of negative energy surrounding him. His grip on my wrist was quick and vicious like a predator pouncing on their prey. His eyes was cold and dead. His smile was bathed in lust. All of that were signs of a person on the verge of becoming a Dark Symbiote. Reviewing the events in my mind I saw that Master Cid was dead, and the man stood before us was nothing but a fake. I got up from the floor and walked over to Cid. “Kwasi? What are you doing?” Patience asked. “I’m ending this!” I dash right at Cid. Even with my body in pain I still let out a powerful kick toward his head. Cid smiled and before I knew it I was thrown across the room. I slide across the floor and flipped back to my feet. Patience called out to me, “Kwasi! What are you doing? Why are you attacking Master Ci-“ “Why do you think? Patience I know I realize it. Master Cid is on the verge of a Dark Symbiote! He isn’t the Master we once knew. I know I hurt but we need to defeat him if we are to have a chance of saving him!” Patience sat there with her head down for a minute. And before I knew a light came right for Cid. He easily dodged it but Patience wasn’t done. She came behind him; her hand glowed and she launched her Hand of Fate technique. It almost managed to pierce right threw Cid. But he just barely managed to dodge it. He grabbed Patience’s arm and toss her across the room, she did a back flip in the air and landed on feet on the ground. We were in a deadlock. We stared at the zombie Master, waiting for his next move. Cid stood straight and put his hands in his pocket. “Heh, you guys aren’t nearly as good as I thought but then again you are only Bronze Hunters.” Patience and I were straight up shocked our mouths opened wide as we the zombie talk. “What? Why are you surprised? Just become I am on a path of a Dark Symbiote doesn’t mean that I don’t have a brain.” “If you can talk then tell us what happened. Why are you still alive when your body was obviously dead?” Patience desperately asked. Cid smirked and looked straight at Patience. “The dead always lie.” “So now you work for some grave robbers?” I asked. “Grave Robbers? Oh you mean the ones who retrieved my body and my weapon. Those two are much more powerful then you kids know.” Cid explained. “For example, they bestowed me to power to do this.” Cid lifted his arm and snapped his figures. Everything around us rumbled and ground began to breath. Without warning an arm shot up from the ground and grabbed my leg. I tried to pull my leg away but the thing just clenched harder. The arm rose higher and faster and threw me in the air. I barely managed to recover in the air and saw from below the rise of the most unrealistic thing ever. Real. Life. Zombies. That’s right the undead has risen from the ground, swarming the pit. I landed back on the ground next to Patience, we witnessed as zombies pushed every part of their bodies up from the ground. “This is not happening, this is not happening,” Patience repeated. But unfortunately it was. We stood there in astonishment as the zombies sprouted from the ground like flowers. Nasty, disgusting, evil flowers. As their numbers grew Patience and I jumped back to the edge of the pit. “So...any ideas?” I asked humorously as I took my stance. “Um...beat the living dead out of them?” Patience answered unsure. “Works for me.” I charged right into the crowd of zombies blasting each one with ease and speed. Electricity flied out of me in every direction as I absolutely destroyed the un-dead abominations. As our battle raged I managed to catch glimpses of Patience. Her fighting style was of course beautiful and elegant. She analyzed each zombies’ weak point, struck them, and finished them all in the span of a couple of seconds and she even managed to dodge any incoming attack. She told me it’s called No Dansu meaning Dance of the Wing. Combined with her Photokinesis she was unstoppable. As we both made quick work of the zombies Cid just stood there not doing anything. I could tell he was analyzing us trying to see how much stronger we become. I wasn’t going to give him the satisfaction. I summoned my Thundara and followed up with my Lightning Saber to clear a path for me. I charged my Thunder Wing in the palm of my hand. “7th Gear Unleash!” I charged at Cid with my 7th Gear speed and struck him with all I had. “Thunder Wing: Bolt!” The force of the attack summoned and lightning bolt that struck at Cid as well adding more power to my attack. The explosion was quite large it caught some of the surrounding zombies in itself. I managed to back away in time, I looked upon the flames to stood where Cid once was or so I thought. “Thunder Wing: Bolt. A variation of the Lightning Emperor’s Thunder Wing technique. It allows him to summon a lightning bolt while he uses he standard Thunder Wing technique. This technique will insure if the initial attack is blocked or dodge the lightning bolt would still connect giving the Lightning Emperor a chance to continue his initial attack adding more substantial and fatal damage.” The voice came from the flames. “A good effort but your goanna need more than that to beat me.” Cid appeared from the flames unscathed as if nothing ever happened. I could look in disbelief, but the pain of my spirit energy being sucked out was enough to snap me back and allowed to be defend myself from more of the zombies. “No way. That was your strongest Thunder Wing technique. No has ever survived that attack.” Patience stated. “Until now.” I responded grimly. “Now then if you guys have any tricks up your sleeves now’s the time pull them out.” Cid taunted. “If we could only use our potions.” Patience proclaimed. “But with all these stupid zombies attacking us we don’t have a chance.” I thought hard on Patience’s words. Patience was much stronger than me, if anything she probably had a better chance killing Cid than I did. And her suggestion of using our potions ultimately led me to make a decision. As long as Patience lived nothing else mattered...nothing. I jumped back from the horde of zombies and made my way to Patience. “Kwasi are you okay?” Patience asked. “Yeah. But I have an I idea. Get ready to take out your potions from your bag on 3.” I ordered. “What?! But Kwasi we don’t " ” “1” “Kwasi wait! What are you planning!?” “2” “Kwasi! Damn it!” “3!” I used the last of my energy to throw up my Thunder Shield. The zombies bounce off it like flies. The shield came around us like a dome. “I’ll won’t be able to hold this shield up for long. Take as many potions as you need and then we’ll switch.” I explained. “...If I survive that long.” I muttered under my breath. “...Fine...” Even though my back was turned I could tell Patience was glaring at me. She knew that I knew that the Poison Materia would start sucking my life energy now that I didn’t have any more Spirit Energy left. I held up the shield for as long as I could. The stupid zombies kept bashing the thing like a drum. Every second I was a painful hour of trying to keep the shield up and keep myself alive. But no matter what I was doing my life energy was being slowly sucked out. My consciousness was slowly slipping. I couldn’t hold the shield for second longer. And then I fell. I didn’t even realize that I was falling. Buy the time I was starting to realize what was happening I was on the ground, watching; watching pathetically as the zombies broke through the shield and pounce at me. I thought I was done for. I wanted to close my eyes but I couldn’t, I was just too broken to. As I waited for the impending pain a sudden flash of light shined over me and warmth filled my soul. “Angel Wings: Cure!” Patience’s wings glowed a bright green colour. As her wings shinned so elegantly my wounds started to recover, my strength coming back to me. Electricity circled my body and in a burst of energy I blasted the electricity in all directions. “Lightning Current!” The electrical discharge stunned the zombies, allowing Patience to take flight and charge her own attack. “Mahama!” A magic circle of bright light appeared bellow each individual zombie. The moment Patience closed her palm pillars of light enclosed the each zombie, vaporizing them. I was in awe as she landed down. “Your turn.” “...Wha?” I responded. I was still amazed by Patience’s display of power. “It’s your turn to drink some potions. Quickly. I don’t think Master Cid is goanna stand there for long.” She was more right than she knew. Master Cid appeared behind her with amazing speed; a level of speed that I even haven’t reach. It was a spirit technique Gem Hunters and higher could use, by channelling spirit energy into their legs they can move at extremely high speeds; depending on how much spirit energy they put into it. It is known as Spirit Step; it takes incredible concentration and spirit control to use it which is why speedsters like myself can’t use it right away. “You called?” Cid laid his hand on Patience’s shoulder; she didn’t even have time to turn before Cid used his Spirit Force to send her backing to the wall. Spirit Force is a another spirit technique, like the Spirit Step by channelling spirit energy into the user’s arms and hands they gain great outward force. “And now for you.” Cid reach for me, but I flipped back while kicking his arm away. I flipped back to the far side of the pit. I reach into my bag and grabbed a potion. I tried to reach for another but Cid came flying right on top of me. I rolled away but he was just too quick his Spirit Force was goanna hit. I tried to summon my Thunder Shield but I didn’t have enough spirit energy for it. Just when I thought I was goanna die...again, Patience came out of nowhere and punched Cid. Cid staggered backwards but wasn’t too affected. He just looked at us with blood lust his eyes. He charged at us, Patience reached quickly and used her Shinning Mirror to surround us in a bubble of light. The moment Cid struck the shield it reflected his attack back him. “Now take the potion while you can!” Patience ordered. I could see the determination in her eyes. She rather die than leave me behind. I felt inspired by her resolve. No matter what happened she wouldn’t give up, not like I was ready to give up and die but she did give me the boost I needed to continue my fight. But what’s the use. I thought, Master Cid knew our techniques and fighting styles by heart. He ought to since he was the one who help us develop our techniques. So no matter what we did he would know how to counter it. Unless... My mind race with a sudden idea. But I knew for a fact that if I were to go with my idea it would open many risks. I looked at Patience’s fatigued face, neither of us could perform our best with the Poison Materia zapping our Spirit and Life Energy. The only way to escape was to take out the Materia. Well one of the only ways. “Right!” I drained two potions and got up with full strength. “Patience...DOUDGE!!!” Patience looked at me confused as I bombarded Cid with my Lightning Saber. Patience managed to fly out of the way in time. “Hey! Watch it!” She snapped. I had no time to apologize. If I was defeat Cid I needed to stun him. I could see in between the Lightning Sabers that Cid was staggering backwards. I used the opportunity to use my 9th Gear speed to get up close. Then in one clean manoeuvre I used my Lightning Current to assure he would be stunned and then I used my Thunder Wing to knock him back. Cid slammed into the wall, sitting lifelessly. I knew it wasn’t going to last long so I had to work fast. “Kwasi nice jo "” “Listen up Patience!” I interrupted. “I need you to fly as high as you can.” Patience look right into my eyes as I stood in the center of the pit. This time she complied with my request and flew higher. I snorted in surprise and relief that she did what I said. I didn’t want her to get hurt in the cross fire. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. “Spirit Resonance.”In a few short seconds my body began to glow and light blue color. By heart began to accelerate. I could hear my muscles tightening and feel my spirit energy rising. I looked straight at Cid as the glow disappeared and my transformation complete. “Fool,” Cid muttered. He was right I was a fool, a fool in love. I used my Spirit Resonance which is the worst thing to do when you are surrounded by Poison Materia. Spirit Resonance a technique that allows the user to access a deeper level of their own Spirit. It increases their physical strength by 3 and spiritual energy by 2, thus giving them access to stronger techniques. It good to use against stronger Dark Symbiote. It not good to use it in an enclosed space filled with Poison Materia. By using the resonance the spirit becomes more potent for the Poison Materia, makes them consume your Spirit Energy at an accelerated rate. And if it they were attacked while you were in resonance the explosion would be more powerful than before. But despite all this I was more than willing to take the risk if it saves Patience’s life. “This is my last attack…” My whole body became electrified. The electricity coming from me was strong and fast. I channelled all that power into my fist. “Die, LIGHTNING CALAMITY!!!!” I struck the ground with great force. All the electricity on me dissipated the moment my fist connect with the ground. “Was that it…an attack I have never seen before and apparently it did nothing,” Cid boasted. “Wait for it…” There was a moment of absolute silence before the ground light up. “What?!” Cid face was amazed and astonished as a lightning bolt shot up from the ground like a geyser. And then like a storm lightning and explosion shot up from the ground, destroying every zombie in the pit. “What the hell?!” Cid exclaimed. The series of explosions lasted for 3 minutes. The attacks destroyed everything on the ground, including me. This was a last desperation attack but Patience didn’t want it that way. Somehow Patience managed to come through the destruction and saved me from being blown to bits. As the explosions stopped Patience descended to the grown and laid me down on my back. “Are you stupid you could have gotten yourself killed,” Patience’s fury could be heard in her voice! But there was something else there. “Why do you keep doing this?! WHY?!” I ignored everything she said and responded. “You alright? No fatal wounds right?” I coughed up some blood and gave an arrogant smile. “SHUT UP!!! JUST SHUT UP!!!” Patience yelled. “YOU PRACTICLY DEAD AND YOU’RE ASKING ME IF I’M ALRIGHT! YOU’RE SO DAMN STUPID!” “Patience…I had to do whatever I could to make sure you lived…I had to protect you.” I coughed out. “Why…why do you do this…WHY IN GODS NAME WOULD YOU DO SOMETHING SO POINTLESS AND STUPID AS PROTECTING ME?!” Now I was annoyed. To say what I did as pointless is an insult to how I feel and can’t be over looked no matter who says it. “WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WHY?! WH-” “BECAUSE I LOVE YOU WITH ALL MY HEART, SOUL, AND SPIRIT. BECAUSE I LOVE YOU PATIENCE HIKARI!!!” I had become blinded by sense of will to protect my beliefs that I didn’t realize what I said. “You…you…love…me?” Patience asked with a giant blush covering her face. “Yes damn it! Yes. I love yo-” That is when I realized what I had just said. I was kicking myself for doing for a long time. I had a very amazing confession plan I was working up to. I was going to take her on a extravagant dinner, treat her to her favourite foods, take her dancing and confess to her under an beautiful moonlit field. Not some random blood bathe hole in some dangerous and creepy mountain. This was totally not romantic. “Wa-wait. I-I-I mean I-I,” I was stuttering like crazy try so hard to recover from my blunder. Before I could finished my poorly executed recovery I felt Patience’s warm embrace as her lips connected with mine. Unexplainable emotions shot out of me like a rocket. As I closed my I entered in a new world. I saw Patience there, as I saw her in her radiance I felt like I was the happiest person in the world. Patience’s lips soon left mine. I woke from my wonderful world and looked at her as she tearful said to me, “Kwasi...I...I love you too.” It didn’t take long for us to embrace each other. The relief and joy within was more than I have ever felt in my life and I’m sure Patience felt the same. But it didn’t last long. “Oh how sweet,” Said a ominous voice. We unlocked ourselves and jerked toward the voice. Our jaws dropped as the smoke cleared and revealed Master Cid, unscathed, proud, and ready to finish us off. “But really if you had the guts to say that a while ago you and Patience would be married by now. Ha, ha, ha, ha! “No way,” Patience mumbled. “But how? That last attack should have killed you!” I busted out. “Hmph. I think you have underestimated me. It’s goanna take more than a Master Arte to defeat me,” Cid explained. I could only sit there helpless. I gave the Lightning Calamity everything I had and it still wasn’t enough. But this wasn’t enough for me to stay down. I grudgingly got up and prepared to strike again but Cid was read by the time I was on my feet he was right in front of me. Cid’s fist glowed purple and struck me in my stomach. It didn’t take me long to realize that Cid’s fist was coated in Spirit Poison. A poison that enters the body and eats away spirit and physical energy, it like Poison Materia but it wears off after a while. But when it’s used on someone like me who is already out of Spirit Energy it will eat away the body and flesh. “ARGH!!!” I cried. “Kwasi!” Patience rushed to my side. She scrambled through her pack and brought out another potion. As she tried to feed it to me but Cid appeared behind her and without hesitation he dealt a powerful kick to her face. “P-Patience…ARGH!!!” My body felt like it was in a volcano. I could feel every particle in my body being destroyed. The pain was too much to bare. It took all my energy just to stay conscience. “I think I have played with you two for too long,” Cid grabbed me by my neck and lifted me to the air. I wanted to break free but me body was too weak to respond. “Goodbye my lightning eyed student…its been fun teaching you. Too bad you didn’t learn more.” Cid left hand charged a light blue electrified ball, the spirit attack Biakurai. At that range the attack would have blow my head off as Cid prepared to finish me off. But as he was about to strike Patience appeared out of no where and intercepted the blast. From the smoke Patience grabbed hold on Cid’s face. Her hand glow amazingly bright. She looked at Cid with great anger and said, “Die monster! HAND OF FATE!” A blast of light generated from her hand and knocked Cid back as he clenched his face. “Kwasi are you okay?” “N-not really. But I-I’ll man-ange,” I responded. “Well that was rude...,” Cid walked toward us, his face only slightly bruised. “Now Patience you’re one of my favourite students so I really don’t want to kill you first. Why don’t you be a good girl and move aside so I can kill your little boyfriend.” “Like I’ll that happen!” Patience stood in defiance. “I’d rather die than let you kill him!” “Hm,” Cid sighed. “But you know I’m in a whole difference level than either of you. If I wanted to I could kill you both with one finger, yet will you still stand against me?” “I’ll die either way right? Then I would rather die protect the person I love with all my heart, soul and spirit than let you kill him,” Patience preached. “Is that your honest wish?” Cid asked. “Yes.” Patience answered fearlessly. “Then as your Master I will be more than glad to fulfill your wish.” © 2012 Kane Raiden |
