wishA Poem by m.s.earlyIn the evening, the sky. It pales into pastel and gently darkens; Indigo seeps through the clouds and one by one the stars reveal themselves. The brightest and closest first. A mural of the past stretches across the holy canvas. Pin pricks in Indigo. I wonder, grandfather, what did you see when your eyes spanned the ancient heavens? Or your fathers' fathers... Or the fathers before them. And grandfather, I wonder, How do they appear from above? A crystal ship splits the silent sky Blazing for a timeless moment, Bursts as it collides with an unsuspecting atmosphere. To my wandering eyes a distraction. And in the moment I wish.
