7A Chapter by Tina KlineRoger seemed more demanding then usual but maybe that was just me. I fixed his meals in the past, did the laundry and some house cleaning. I even waited on him a little. He did nice things for me too. But this evening something was different. I was irritated with him. He seemed unattractive to me for the first time that I could remember. I couldn't lie and claim Roger was abusive, physically or emotionally. His home was beautiful as was the wilderness around it. I just missed my home in Seattle. I missed the excitement of the city. Sometimes Roger got on my case about my eating habits, or lack there of but not often. I suffered bouts of depression and I had nothing to do here or in the little town close by to distract myself. And now the dream. Dreams of blood filled lakes and mysterious figures haunting them. After I finished making a dinner I wouldn't eat I planned on going for a walk. Roger didn't want me to go. “Come on Stacey. You went for a walk this morning.” He shoved a big chunk of steak into his mouth and started chewing loudly. I looked away, disgusted by the sight and sound. I moved a few green peas around my plate. “I cooked meals, I moped and did laundry. I think I deserve a little fresh air and relaxing time.” My voice was whiny and I didn't care. “Stay inside Stacey. The is a wild wolf hanging around.” “Oh, come on! I hear the wolf howling. It's not next door! And besides ,why are you trying to control me!” I yelled.
Roger froze, staring at me with surprise. I usually never yelled. I
knew I was behaving out of character. “What's wrong Stacey? Are you
getting bored being here with me?” “Okay Stacey.” Roger went back to eating his meal I made, refusing to look at me again. © 2015 Tina KlineReviews
