10A Chapter by Tina KlineI felt like I was under some sort of spell of enchantment even considering drinking from the lake. But if I were being controlled by this man creature would I even know it?This I couldn't answer. I looked at the strange human looking creature and wondered what he was. An alien? Yes, most likely that was the reasonable answer. An alien trying to pass as a human man. A slow smile spread across his face. “I see you're conflicted so I'll help you.” Moving quickly forward so gracefully he'd put professional dancers to shame, he took hold of me and easily flipped me so I was on my hands and knees at the edge of the blood lakes shore. The he easily pushed my head down, forcing my face into the red liquid. I cried out once. I barely had time for that. Then my face was submerged. I opened my eyes and mouth. All I saw was red. And it filled my mouth. I was about to choke when I was yanked out. My heart thudded with fear as I sat there on my knees. I swallowed the stuff in my mouth. I tried spitting out what I could. I started coughing and choking. The man creature stood there watching, no expression on his face at all. He stood completely motionless. Nothing alive could stand there so motionless. I could tell his eyes were on me, watching. He might be as still as a dead thing, but his eyes were alive and aware. I stopped coughing finally and licked the inside of my mouth and wiped my face as best I could with my clothing. “Hell.” I muttered, that weird bursting sizzling sensation I had felt earlier when I tasted the blood was now happening in my mouth but it was much more powerful.. It was happening in my stomach and spreading to other parts of my body. “Hell! What is happening to me?” I felt a real cold chill of fear in me now. I hardly noticed the taste this time at all. © 2015 Tina KlineReviews
