A Chapter by Tina Kline

I screamed, at last scrambling to my feet, trying to run which the snow made impossible. I just wanted to get away.  I stumbled and fell on my butt in the snow. The crows and ravens called out, flapping their wings in what I thought was excitement. More snow fell from the branches they were clinging to. The snow continued falling from the grey overcast sky. I heard Roger calling my name. I heard the cabin door close and knew he was coming down the path. The wolf was very close and was joined by the coyotes.

“Stacey! Stacey!” Roger called as he made his way down the snowy path.

Dartman's eyes glowed like two red crimson flames as he looked in the direction Roger was coming. I feared for Roger. I new Dartman was going to kill him.

I scrambled to my knees, “Oh, don't kill Roger! I'll be homeless! I'll be lost!” I cried.

“I know Stacey you are not happy with him. And with the blood in you unfurling and blossoming, you'll grow to dislike him even more. You are restless. You want more. You will have it.”

I looked at the inhuman man creature. His red burning eyes, white skin, black hair and clothes and his mouth full of sharp teeth and wondered. Was he alien? A vampire? A demon? I watched him as he moved to where the path opened up to the lake. No, he moved like no creature of this earth. Gracefully in that effort, hardly using his body at all.

“Stacey!” Roger called “Stacey! Are you alright!”

He was getting closer and Dartman was waiting. I was feeling weirder and weirder more and more. The blood was doing something really weird inside me. I even felt the changes happening already.

Roger is heading in for a heap of trouble. Even thought Stacey is unhappy with him I think he really is into her. Too bad she got bored.

I appreciate you reading this book greatly.
Good suspense. I like these characters, Roger is sort of s dufus, he can't see his girl friend isn't happy. If he loved her she might not be going through this dark transformation.

I think it is too late for Stacey and Roger. He shouldn't have let her get so bored in his cabin home in the heart of the forest in the heart of a snowy winter with nothing to do. She is a city girl.
