A Chapter by Tina Kline

Sometime during that delirium I thought I was floating in a sea of blood. And Dartman was there, seeming to stand watch over me while I floated. The blood was warm and I felt comforted. Some time later I opened my eyes and I was still there floating in the sea of blood with snow falling all around me. I heard the wolf howling inside me, deep in my womb, pleasure sizzled and burst, little bubbles of pleasure. I closed my eyes. Dartman was still with me. Alien vampire. Was I becoming like him?

Something or someone shook me awake. I was standing naked on the beach of the lake of blood. It was not the beach where Roger had died and been eaten. It was a different beach. I was coated in blood, it clung to me like a second skin. I stood there looking at Dartman. He was dressed in clean black clothing. I was naked.

“Stacey.” He shook me gently again.

“I hear you. What's happening to me? Where are my clothes?”

“Don't worry about anything. You will be fine. You are becoming as I am.”

“Oh?” I felt confused. The crows and ravens hovered about us. I watched them, feeling uncertain.

“We are going to your cabin. I have the key.”

He held the key in front of me. Yes, Roger's key. I stared. I felt dumb, I couldn't think.

What a compelling story. It's taking a turn into the surreal. Very fun dark read.
