A Chapter by Tina Kline

“Come on.” I told the animals and they quickly followed me.

Then Darkman was beside me urging us faster. We reached the blood of the red lake, a different beach than when Roger died and was consumed.

     “Now where?”

“Out there.” Dartman pointed to the red lake bordered by ivory snow.

     “Out there?”

“Yes Stacey. Follow me.” Dartman stepped into the blood and moved forward.

I followed him, unafraid, totally trusting him. The wolf and coyotes followed us as did the crows and ravens. At one point we were floating upright. The wolf and coyotes seemed to glide effortlessly behind us. The crows and ravens drifted in the air just above the blood.

Dartman looked at me. “Now we go...under.”

     “Under?”
“Yes. Follow me.” He went under. Without any worry or concern, just like it was a natural thing for me to do, I went under. Beside us the wolf, coyotes, crows and ravens all went under. What I missed but knew somehow happened was the cabin exploding into a fiery ball in the snowy forest. It burned to the ground. As we went under the red waters, the blood followed us and went under where we did. The lake was normal water once again.

The End...for now anyway.

Fantastic horror book. What an odd ending. I'm sure there is more to this. Hope you write it and post it on here for us to read. Love your book/story. Very different than most vampire stories. Fantasy and horror mized. Nicely done.

Wow, glad I read this whole story. It is as if the red water was alive on some level to as it left with them as they left the human world behind.

Fantastic story. I'd like to know where they went.

Well, this is an outstanding vampire story of High Strangeness. I can help but want to know what happens next once they go beneath the water and take all the blood with them?

I really enjoyed your vampire tale.
