**If We Were Born Earlier**

What if we were born ten years before
The dates written beside our names?
No mobile calls, no glowing screens,
No emails, no digital flames.

Only paper, ink, and waiting �"
Handwritten letters sealed with care,
No instant world, no crossing skies,
Just silence floating in the air.

You in the USA,
And I in India’s distant light �"
Two souls beneath the same wide moon,
Yet hidden from each other’s sight.

We may have lived our separate days,
Never hearing each other’s voice,
Writing letters never posted,
Loving without a choice.

Perhaps I’d speak to your photograph,
Confess my heart to ink and page,
Lock my feelings in a diary
To soften distance, time, and age.

I’m grateful for this restless time �"
For headlines where your name appears,
For knowing what your world holds now,
For closing at least a part of fears.

They say true love survives the miles,
Even when hands cannot entwine.
I could see you smiling somewhere,
Though you could never look at mine.

And maybe that is love’s true power �"
To wish you joy, though I’m unseen,
To feel you safe beneath the sky
And know exactly what that means.

Love gives life.
Love makes you smile.
It fills an empty stomach
With care that lasts a while.

You may not hold a dollar,
Yet your love is worth far more �"
For when your lover sleeps in peace,
That safety is a treasure stored.

So love with grace, not with control,
Not with anger, not with pride.
Don’t wound the heart you once embraced,
Or let cruel desires decide.

If you have loved someone truly,
Make him proud of what you shared.
Do not let your bitterness
Erase the ways you cared.

Clean the corners of your mind,
The silent doubts, the hidden fears �"
Let true love stand in gratitude
For all those precious years.

Stop thinking he is not with you �"
Love does not vanish in the air.
If he once gave his heart to you,
That love is always there.
