Tender small bamboo tree with superego

Tender small bamboo tree with superego

A Poem by Linda alexander
"

Tender small bamboo tree with superego or a shrub with lost or torn leaves in the wild storm

"
She still lost some leaves, and some leaves torn too
She still stood as if she is the strongest when it comes to emotional maturity
The storm was so heavy, she tried to swing through the storm
She even tried to kiss the ground so that it will pass through
She even scared she will make through the storm
Look at her, her ego worse than oak tree
Look at her, proclaims without her no thunderstorm
I have no comments, I am a just passer by
Let her figure out later, can she live like that  with superego forever

Look at her, her ego worse than oak tree

that made me sit back and think. i'd never compared the two before. very cool.

this is very provoking and i had to re-visit my memories of studying Freud. Id desires instinctive survival means, food, safety, propagation. ego finds a way, by any means necessary, to appease id. superego is the voice of morality... (if i am remembering this correctly).

i'm trying very hard to wrap my mind around this while i write but it's so deep. the allegory is thick and heavy. this is excellent. i'll be pondering on it what it means all day (or the rest of the afternoon at least) :)

A superego is no Amigo for sure but a hidden enemy. Some ego is ok for affirmation of truth and identity. It is the arrogant ones ( the dictator types)which are the worst.A very good poem...:).........
