In the Mahabharata ( a Hindu religious book or book among world classics) Gandari is wife of Dridarashtra (who is known for being blind with his love towards his sons) tied her eyes entire time after the marriage. She purposefully did this act as her spouse Dridarashtra was a blind individual, This writing is not to offend any religion. It is only meant for positive creative writing

Coming from India i have very less idea about it. So i wanna say i really liked the rhetorical questions out here. They did emphasize the fact that were you so blind that you could not make your son strong..being a woman you will have conflict of duties as a parent and a partner. It should be balanced.bur love for her husband blinded her love for sons.so this became here bitter state. A powerful poem indeed :)

In mahabharatam we can see Dritarashtra being a king and ruler who supposed to stand at the side of justice stood for the wrong or wicked acts of his sons especially Duroydhan as he is a father who loved his sons too much so that nodded for every wrong things they did, Gandari's eyes were mentioned as so powerful even to the extent if she un shield her eyes and looks at some one he can not be defeated by any one in this earth, gandari opened her eyes for once to loo at Duroydhan prior to mahabharatha war so that he will be undefeated, but Duroydhan covered his private parts as he was shy to be in front of his mother fully naked and that part become the secret of defeating him, therefore the enemy team the Padavas hit him above the thigh in that area and defeated him. This is part of the story. My question is Ganadri was simply blind or reading between lines to see it as symbolization to show how strong spouse she was through inner strength, take care
You teach us so much to those people who are not part of that religion or culture. I like to learn and take lessons that makes it relevant to our or my life...Bravo....................

Dhritarastra was born blind Linda not who is known for being blind with his love towards his sons. Yes it is Gandhari's love for her husband. Nicely written dear and I dont know you are interested in Hindu scriptures.

What an interesting story you have told here. I don't know much about Hinduism, but this story would be perfect in any religion. When you love someone, you want to see the world as they see it. You want to understand where they are coming from. Very romantic...and empathetic. I enjoyed this. Lydi**
