What forA Poem by Linda alexanderToiled for decades and cut corners of my own comforts Dreamed and dreamed for the brighter days Now all came to almost a big mess What was that tiresome journey for I looked at the dark sky for few bright stars Stars told me we are dying and have died already I looked at the eyes of the close ones I could see few stars arising very slowly I looked at my own mirror to see sparkling light Yes to see bright stars in my own bright eyes I could see dullness of the dead fish eyes What for all those years of toiling and sweating I looked deep down and deeper than I could dive I saw something which was way precious than anything That was the journey to find myself and true self I saw a diamond sparkling in my heart which was still supple
