The watcher

                                    The sun hovers on an orange horizon

                                  as it views it's creation at days end. It 

                                  surrounds our part of the earth in it's halo

                                  and causes the sea to shimmer.

                                    Some of earths' children dance upon

                                  the sand in a simple expression of life's joy.

                                  They have the right to relish the gift of life,

                                  as do all creatures.

                                     Me? I just sit and watch, and wonder about

                                   the seeds they will plant. Will they, upon their 

                                   birth, have the same opportunity to live?

Not sure, there is true answers when considering practical ways and lay man's observations, when thinking deeper level all have equal right just like shimmering of the sea by golden rays of sun

This is gorgeously written from the viewpoint of the wisest sage, an elder statesmen at the least watching what unfolds as time progresses. Excellent poetry.
