Blood Red VisionsA Chapter by KevinAnother strange dream-o-mine
On the shore we're washed up. A bleak island with cold, snow-like sand. The sun shines on the black sky and the small waves of the blood red ocean slide their fingers on my ankles. As I look into the distance, I see the world where I once lived. A feeling of guilt enters my body. As if I was supposed to save the people. The red ocean had consumed them and there's no going back. To my left is a familiar girl who grasps my hand. Why were we spared? Why do I feel this guilt? Why couldn't I have been consumed by the liquid beast that has become the fate of my loved ones.
The girl beside me squeezes my hand and I look at her. Her hair is a deep, rich red and there's a hint of fear in her eyes. "You know this is it, right?" She asks. I look around the bleak island. Then I look at the civilization trapped by the red ocean. I look closer at the water touching my ankles. Slowly, it starts bleeding, changing its color to blue. I close my eyes and crack a smile, "I know." THE END?
