I Went To God Just To See...(We Tried To Stop It)

Another story taken from a nightmare I had. I can't help but think it's linked to the other one. My mind is all jacked up :)

We stand on the hillside staring into the sky. Lydia falls to her knees and sobs, "We tried to stop it! We tried! We tried!" What's going on? What did we do? I can't help but think we've only increased the time of demise. Aylissa buries her face in her hands as I look into the sky. It begins to tear open and reddish purple light spills out. "Why couldn't we stop it?!" Lydia cries out. I need to warn people! But how? I feel stuck. My legs won't move. I just stare at the ominous light. Aylissa collapses to the ground. Around us, the earth is breaking apart. Telephone poles fall down and small bits of soil and rock float in the air. The clear blue sky starts to turn red-purple. 

An enormous, piercing red eye starts to form inside of the gash in the sky. Tears form in my eyes as I realize what I couldn't stop. I know what this chaos is. This is doomsday. The apocalypse. The day we are all judged. "This is the end of the world!" I exclaim.
