First Taste Of... Love?A Chapter by Katheryn10Joel Soon after dinner, Joel excused himself and called Isabella. "Hey, is that... Isabella?" he asked on the phone, quietly once he was out by the stairs. The rest of the family had finished before him. "Hey, umm who is this?" He laughed nervously, "Sorry, it's Joel." Isabella laughed back. "Hey Joel. I was just thinking about you actually. Hows, things?" Anna hovered at the top of the stairs, "Joel! Get up here, we need to talk!" she hissed. "Yeah, actually I was wondering if I could come over to see you, um, tonight? If you're free, that is." he asked Isabella. He kept his back to Anna, trying to ignore her mutterings. "Sure, umm, I'm free. Is there a problem?" He shuffled his feet, "No, no. just wanted someone to talk to about... stuff." "Oh okay. Well, as long as you remember the way here, you can come over now." she said cheerfully. Excited that he was wanting to see her. "Okay, yeah, great." he said with a big grin on his face. He went to the front door and stepped outside, not caring what Anna said to his parents. "I'll be there in a bit" he finished and hung up. He called for a taxi. He legally couldn't drive, and given his weekly allowance he could afford the taxi. Anna "Dad, um... can I speak to you for a minute?" I carefully edged the subject about Joel into my fathers tea break. We had been training for an hour or so before we called it quits for a bit. "Sure, what's up?" he said, watching me sit down next to him. "Well," how could i tell him when I promised Joel? But i had to, I was the only one who could tell him and calm him down. "It's about Joel. I don't know if you noticed, but he's been acting a bit..." how could I put this? "...weird, today." "I have noticed." "Well...." Mum walked in the kitchen then and smiled when she saw dad and i sitting together. I stood up and excused myself. "It's okay, I was just going." I gave mum a kiss on the cheek, "See you later. Um dad, can I take a raincheck on the rest of the training today, I feel a bit off." I then turned before he could tell me no and went to my room. Joels room was empty, so I guessed he was still out. I didn't like this connection but I guess it was helpful in an emergency. I went and lay on my own bed. It was comfy, unlike our sofa beds that we have in the study room downstairs. I lay there, closing my eyes, relaxing in the moment. I also fell asleep. Joel "Joel, you have to tell your parents!" Isabella chanted to him. He's been at the mansion for only ten minutes and already she was telling him what to do. All he wanted was some advice, but it seemed to be wrong advice. Joel looked into her eyes " her eyes that were so brown it was like chocolate " and tried to get to under stand how he couldn't tell her parents " it would destroy them. "Please, Isabella, Please. If it was that easy, I would tell them. But you should have seen my dad when I brought up the subject. He was mental, and that was on a hyperthetical basis. If he found out " if any of them found out " I, I don't think I'd be allowed to stay at home." He found himself in Isabella's arms, hers wrapped around his waist as they sat there on her living room sofa. The same sofa that she supposedly changed him. He had not yet fed and was increasingly close to giving in but couldnt bare the thought of drinking blood. The thought repulsed him, which he thought was strange. Isabella got up and grabbed a knife that was left on a side table by the window. She then turns her other arm outwards so that her parms were facing up and made a cut in her wrist and went back over to Joel, thrusting her wrist in front of him. "Here, take some. You need it" she insisted. Joel curled his lips back in disgust but the fire in his eyes were bright with hunger despite how repulsed the small human side to him was. He slowly bent his head to the flowing red that was her blood and licked. He flinched, but something inside of him took over and suddenly her wrist was stuck to his mouth like a toffee stuck a shoe. The salty red liquid was intoxicating and he couldn't stop sucking. It wasn't until Isabella used her other arm to pull back his head, that he realised just what he had done. And what he had become. He didn't much like it, but at the same time, he felt so much stronger and together now than he had ever felt. Isabella lifted her wrist away from his line of sight and licked the cut so that it would heal. "How do you feel now?" she asked, looking him in the eye once more, cut fully closed and her wrist looking as soft and smooth as it had before. He blinked a couple of times and sat up straight. "I feel... amazing." he whispered, taking in his feelings and the power that he now held. "Is it like this everytime I, um, drink blood?" She put her hands between her legs, rocking back and forth nervously. "Not all the time. It's just because this is the first time you've fed." Joel looked at his hands and saw they looked really smooth, almost as though he'd dipped them in cream. He stood up and looked wandered around the room. "So, you've lived here all your life?" he mused. She was still sitting down and gazing up at Joel curiously. Wondering why he was looking at her posessions no doubt. "No, I moved here when I was 16, when I changed." she seemed nervous about talking about her past. Joel moved over to her and sat by her side. He lifted her chin with his hand to signal that he wanted to hear more. "Go on" he whispered She shuffled her feet for a second, took a deep breath and began. "I was changed in 1950 when I was 16. I was a born vampire. My parents knew I would become one, but after a few weeks they gradually grew distant. So I moved out and found a couple of other rogue, or at least, lone vampires who took me in. but since then they've all moved on and I wanted to stay." She sighed when finished. Joel was quiet. Taking in her words. "My sister was a born vampire too." he commented. Isabella looked surprised. "It's fairly rare to get born vampires these days. Is it just you and your sister?" "Um, no. I have 2 other sisters and 2 brothers." He moved uncomfortabley on the sofa. Joel hung his head for a moment in thought. Isabella moved to sit beside him properly and when he looked up again, her face was so close to his, he could smell every perfume she'd ever worn in the past week. He could sense so many things now that it was starting to become overwhelming. For a second all he could see where her eyes looking back at his. He was captivated by her. He was so into staring at her that he barely noticed when she bent in to kiss him. The touch of her lips on his was like melting ice-cream on a hot summers day. Ironically for him, sunlight heat would never be an issue again. After a couple of seconds, Isabella seemed to realise what she was doing and sat up straight, leaving Joel lingering there open enjoying the moment. "I... I think you better go home, Joel. It's getting late and your parents will worry." She stood up and moved down the hall to the front door, motioning for him to do the same. Joel was still in shock at what had happened. © 2010 Katheryn10 |
